What we treat
Therapy for speech delay, at home
A speech delay means a child says fewer words, or clearer words later, than most children of the same age. It is the most common reason a Malaysian family looks for a speech therapist, and it is the reason most families write to us.
What a therapist checks first
How many words your child uses, how your child asks for things, and how much your child understands. Understanding often runs ahead of speaking, and that gap matters.
Why we work at home
A child uses the most words in the room they know. We build the session around your own toys, your own routine and the people already in the house.
What you do between sessions
You stay in the room, so you learn the same moves. The week between sessions carries more practice than the session itself.
Common questions
- Is a speech delay the same as autism?
- No. A speech delay describes speech alone. Autism affects social communication and behaviour as well. Some children have both, and some have only one. An assessment separates them.
- Will my child grow out of it?
- Some children do and some do not. No one can tell you which from a description alone. An assessment gives you a clearer answer than waiting does.
