Checking that a therapist is registered
The Allied Health Professions Act 2016 made registration compulsory for speech-language therapists in Malaysia. Practising without it is an offence.
Ask for the number
A registered therapist holds a registration with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council and a current practising certificate.
The certificate expires
A practising certificate runs for a fixed period and must be renewed. Ask whether it is current.
We verify before any visit
We check the registration of every therapist we engage, before that therapist sees a child.
